COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS & RRP
Due to a lack of studies required for including commercial buildings in the Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, the EPA is now extending the deadline for the revision until 2015. The original intent was to introduce the ruling by September of 2012. However, studies showing the effect of lead on adults are required by federal law before any changes to the Rule can occur.
Lead-based paint can still be used in commercial and industrial buildings. The new ruling would require every commercial building to adhere to the new standard. More details can be found here.
