MEMPHIS AIR QUALITY
Earlier this year, the EPA announced that several counties in Tennessee had not met federal air quality standards for the past three years. Shelby County was included in the list of counties given this non-attainment designation because of ozone levels. The EPA denied an appeal to the decision. Bob Martineau, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, issued a statement saying that this decision will have "long-term negative economic impacts for Tennessee."
